Before giving advice about presenting and talking about art work, you need to step back from your work. You need to be honest about your own art work.

Think about the following questions:
'Have I done all the work/tasks set?- Is it to the best ability that I can produce?'
'Did I plan my work and my time well?'
'Does my work cover all the assessment criteria?'
'Does my work link and make sense?'
'What would I honestly say about my own work?- How would I grade the work that I have completed?'
'What have other students around me done? Could I learn from there work/ideas/outcomes/attitudes/aptitude?'

The reason we (the tutors) ask you to present and talk about your art work is because we want to see if you:
1. understand the work created and the project set
2. are able to commumicate your ideas confidently and coherently
3. developed your own thinking and outcome/s
4. be questioned at a higher level of thinking
5. can work to assessment set

We expect students to be mature and use this time to develop their own ideas, be able to use the time to bounce ideas off one another and learn from each other. The tutors try and give you advice about how to improve and develop your own ideas, they are honest when they do this and expect students to use this constructive and creative criticism well and to the best of their ability. As the tutors have set the work and projects- they do tend to know what they are looking for and how your work is assessed.

How to plan what you are going to say about your work?
