Next month there will be chance to join Post 16 Art students on a trip to the Tate Modern, London. If you have not been there before this old power station comprising of 7 floors, contains some of the world's most impressive, popular and contemporary art works and is usually filled with thousands of running and screaming school kids!
As part of all the Post 16 Art courses, you will have a number of opportunities to visit galleries and we feel it is an essential part of the course to embrace these opportunities. It is imperitive as an Art student to experience Art work first hand- this gives you an idea of scale as well as feeling that you could understand the work further. Therefore this trip will be COMPULSORY.
Date: Monday 19 November
Time departure: 8.30am from college on a Coach(arriving back at college 3.30pm approx)
Price: £8.00 per student
You will be set a personal critical and contextual studies project to assist your course work and Units that you are completing within college. You will also be expected to research about the Tate Modern, its history and prepare what you will be interested in seeing.
This will be posted on the blog nearer the time and explained to you in college by Cat Taylor.
