Love them or Hate them?
Have your say about the idea of crtiques....
should you be asked to explain your work infront of other people?
do you think you learn anything from them?
do crits allow you to step back and review your ideas and work?
is there anything that you will take from each crit?
do you think tutors are fair when talking to you about your work?

see..i think Crits are something that are intergral to Art teaching and learning....I could tell you some HORROR stories from Art school that happened to me or others....so like the Girl Guides say: Be Prepared!!
Ruth...thinking about feedback..what do you want to know..remember Crits are a two way thing you can ask questions back?! and if you do want to sit down and chat about your work just shout!

Typing this is going to make this so impersonal and will sound harsh when typed-
I thought your ideas about being personal surveyed touched on a different angle not covered and properly more relative to you as a person rather than surveillance cameras around us all the time.
I would have liked to see more analytical drawings
More self portraits- more expressive work, perhaps looking at the work of Francis Bacon for example to understand Expression.
I would have liked to see more experimentation with media, exploration of paint etc.
You seemed to jump straight to the dress and I would have like have heard more of an explanation and more ideas produced? The dress was interesting as a starting point but I did not understand or was not attracted to it enough? Could have been the gold!? But for your first attempt of making a garment it was good!

I dont like crits atall, Lee laughs at me because i talk to fast and I forget EVERYTHING im meant to say...I SHAKE (yes I get a touch of the shakes) and more than once have gone really REALLY red!
Saying this though, I do find that crits give me something to aim for. Its scares me into thinking "right I gotta fuckin do my work otherwise i nthe crit I wont have ANYTHING!"
I do think their one of htem things like learning to drive or something that just takes practise...And we need all the practise we can get if were going art uni where their EVIL to you!
I think tutors are REALLY fair, sometimes a little TOO fair? I like critisim, and im going to get nervous wether its good or bad so I'd much rather have all the bad truthfully and know what I can work on! But then again thats just me?
